Here you have premier Rhythm and Blues, spiced up some by the Memphis Horns. Posting this one some thirty-four years after the fact, in anticipation of seeing him again in early 2024. I had seen Robert Cray a couple years earlier in Chicago, which was more raw and loose than this rather slick, Cincinnati show. Both very good shows. All of the shows I recorded at Bogart's from my sweet spot in the balcony turned out great. This one is no exception.

Really, really, really enjoyed this show. After spending a good part of the day driving from Columbus to Chicago, we hit a few of the record stores (remember when there were record stores?) and had just enough time to get something to eat before the doors opened. What better place to see America's premier R&B artist than Chicago, arguably at the peak of his career! The band was HOT, and just tore up this small club! Includes a cool radio interview from earlier that same day.
